How To Dispose Off A Used Menstrual Product And The Need For Napkin Destroyer

A napkin dispenser has made life easier for women. We come across women who quote ‘with Glolife napkin dispensers installed in the restrooms of public places, we feel at home. Comfort and convenience on the go relieves them from the burden of thinking about ‘how will I manage without a napkin’ or ‘where will I get one from’. Additionally, it is a great deal of time and effort saved. It is indeed a turning point for women travellers.
Napkin Dispenser

Napkin dispenser – Nationwide boon
Sanitary napkin vending machines were first installed in government schools in Kerala in May 2017 following which several such dispensers were installed in various parts of the country. Schools, colleges, hospitals, railway stations and recently the Supreme Court too joined the bandwagon.
In the absence of napkin dispensers – Rules for menstrual hygiene
The greatest hurdle to realising the installation of napkin vending machines in every nook and corner of the country is the lack of awareness amongst people. Poor menstrual hygiene can be a risk to health. Here are a few key tips to follow when you are disposing off a soiled napkin.
Flushing is an absolute ‘NO’
While you may find flushing a used napkin is the easiest way to get rid of it, it can clog the sewage system as it tends to bloat up when soaked in water.
Safe trashing
You must ensure the soiled napkin is folded in half to cover the stain before dumping it in the bin. You can even wrap it with a tissue.
Cover the trashcans
It is important to cover the trashcans which have sanitary wastes to ensure pets keep away from it and to keep off the odour.
